Kathryn R. Murphy, RN, MSN, CMC

President, CEO

At a very early age, I knew that taking care of others is what motivates me. At the age of 6, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. Years later after growing up in the Midwest where hard work ethics are a standard, opportunities allowed me to obtain both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in the Science of Nursing.

After rewarding careers as a nurse in the U.S. Navy (retired as a Commander) and the Mayo Foundation, I found myself being a caregiver in a much different capacity - taking care of my Father from 2000 miles away. As I learned to depend on and trust the caregivers who took care of my Father's daily needs, I found myself feeling guilt and frustration. "I should be there," I thought. "I should be the one taking care of him."

This was the reason I opened my Comfort Keepers office. I want to be here to help your loved one remain independent - because life's challenges pull you in many other directions and you just can't be here or don't have the time or energy it takes to care of an aged loved one. I want to bring the convenience of assisted living to your loved one in Jacksonville, Florida and bring you a sense of peace knowing your loved one is being taken care of by loving, professional and compassionate caregivers.

Our services enhance aging in place and are provided in the Jacksonville area communities of Duval and Saint Johns Counties. I look forward to working with your families.

Jackie Lide

Office Manager

Jackie started with our company in 2002 and was our first "Comfort Keeper of the Year." She joined the administrative staff in 2006 as an Administrative Assistant.  Currently she serves as the Office Manager. Her primary responsibilities are billing, payroll and overseeing the general office management. Jackie also assists with training, scheduling and other administrative matters.

Cassandra Strong

Scheduling Coordinator

Cassandra became a Comfort Keeper in 2012. She served as a caregiver for a short time and all our clients loved her. Her background as a manager for a group home for disabled adults provided her with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, which was an administrative asset for our office. Cassandra was promoted to Scheduling Coordinator and works with our caregivers and clients to ensure their scheduling needs are arranged.

Linda Allan

Client Services Coordinator

Linda worked as a social worker for the Department of Children and Families for 30 years, investigating adult abuse and neglect as well as providing services for the elderly. She joined Comfort Keepers in 2005. Linda’s primary responsibility is assessing clients’ needs and providing information to clients and their families.

Anna Carroll

Caregiver

I first experienced the joy of caregiving when I was 12 years old. My neighbors were elderly and ill and I used to walk to the store to get their groceries for them. From there I was just destined to be a Comfort Keeper I guess. I really like being able to help people. I've got the "gift of lift!". I get out of bed with a smile on my face and I love to lift the spirits of the clients that I work with.

Ellen Anderson

Caregiver

I always wanted to be a nurse but was not able to finish my schooling. I was in a position where I had to go back to work and CNA school was a really good option for me! I have been a "caregiver" at heart my whole life. I love helping people and have the compassion and patience to help those that really need it.

My passion for caregiving really began when I started taking care of my mother when she was ill and while I was a Hospice volunteer. I learned a lot about how to ease clients and families of clients in the dying process. I will do anything I can do to help make those difficult times easier. I also experience the lighter side of "caregiving" by being a mother of 3 amazing girls.

Greg Cajuste

Caregiver

I recently moved to Jacksonville to pursue a carreer in health care. I have a degree in Biology and I am a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Florida. I have aspirations of becoming a Physician's Assistant but I really love being a caregiver. I have a passion for helping people and I enjoy living a high quality life. I want the people I come in contact with to  experience that. Comfort Keepers allows me to do that.

Mary Berridge

Caregiver

I got started working as a caregiver in New Zealand and I returned to the States to care for my mom. I really enjoy learning about my client's lives when I spend time with them. I used to work at a nursing home but I decided to switch to Comfort Keepers because I find one-on-one care so much more rewarding. My favorite part of my job is to see my clients smile when we do things together

Sandra Soja

Caregiver

From childhood I felt a calling for nursing which I pursued after high school. Although my professional career was cut short due to growing family responsibilities, my role as a caregiver for family, friends and then clients has extended throughout four decades. When I moved to Jacksonville in 1998 I discovered the Comfort Keepers Franchise in 2000 and went to work for them.

I treat each client as a "whole" person. I try to learn about their history, likes, dislikes, hobbies interests etc. By incorporating this information into their care I endeavor to keep the client engaged in life and connected to their past while helping to find creative ways to deal with present limitations. I also consider myself part of a team which includes the close family members. I believe strongly in effective communication, sharing information and problem solving together.

Susan Fogarty

Caregiver

I began caring for the elderly at a skilled nursing facility when I was attending college. I care for my clients the same way I would care for my family members. I am a veteran's spouse so I understand their need for services. I am a RN with a BSN. I have worked in nursing homes, hospitals, and private homes. I also worked as a nutrition coordinator at a senior meal center. I enjoy caring for my clients each and every day as I learn from all of their experiences. I want to help our veterans and their families to thank them for all of their sacrifices.
